Join me in raising money to create my own foundation that will help other chemotherapy patients cope with what they are going through and with losing their hair.
From personal experience, I was dreading the moment I was going to be bald. I hated seeing it fall out, or waking up to a pillow covered in a million pieces of hair. I cried when I saw myself in the mirror for the first time after shaving my head and locked myself in the bathroom. I guess it was because it finally dawned on me that I am a cancer patient. After shaving my head, I always wore something to cover my head because I was embarrassed of what I looked like. Although I embrace the fact that I am bald now, it took a long time for me to accept it.
I want my foundation to send hats of all kinds to people of all ages who may expect hair lose due to cancer treatment. Not only do I want to serve the United States, but extend my hand to those internationally as well.
As soon as I am out of the hospital, I want to fundraise to get this foundation up and running! And donate 25% of the proceeds to an organization that is trying to find a cure for cancer.
